Cats in Art: The Birth of John the Baptist

From my continuing weekly Sunday series of cats in art.  I'm using some ideas from the coffee table book, The Cat in Art, by Stefano Zuffi.

I guess cats have been involved, well, pretty much in all aspects of life, including childbirth.  Although if this cat were our cat De Beere, she would actually be up on the bed, checking out baby John.
