Cats in Art: A Flood (Millais)

From my continuing weekly Sunday series of cats in art. I am using some ideas from the coffee table book, The Cat in Art, by Stefano Zuffi.

Zuffi's comment:

...the cat, which is well known to dislike water, is paralyzed with fear and can only manage to howl with terror.

How the cat got there and why is unknown, but I know the feeling.  Poor kitty!
